Comic Mint is your best source for 100% genuine Simpsons Animation Artwork licensed by Twentieth Century Fox.
We are pleased to offer SIMPSONS fans this RARE hand painted original production cel from the classic fifth season episode "Deep Space Homer" (1994).

Great image of Homer, at Cape Canaveral, wearing his NASA suit. Homer addresses Buzz Aldrin over his comment that Barney is kicking’ ass!

Homer: (contemptuously) "I, er, don't think this contest is over yet, "Buzz"...if that is your real name! I believe there is still a little something called "The Swimsuit Competition".
Scientist: "There's no swimsuit competition, Homer” Homer: (voice rising) "You mean I shaved my bikini zone for nothing?!"

This is a one-of-a-kind, hand-painted production cel (there are no others), and the artwork was filmed and used in the making of this SIMPSONS episode. Freeze-frame your DVD or Video, and you will see this unique piece of artwork on screen around the 10:26 mark. Homer is hand-painted onto a single cel, and placed against a copy of the matching scene background.

This 12 field, 3-peghole, celluloid measures 10.5 inches by 12.5 inches wide, and bears the Twentieth Century Fox gold seal (lower corner). The artwork is also accompanied with the original Twentieth Century Fox certificate of authenticity and is in excellent condition.

In the episode, NASA is concerned by the decline in public interest in space exploration, and therefore decides to send an ordinary person into space.
