We are pleased to offer SIMPSONS fans this RARE hand painted original production cel setup, from the classic ninth season episode # "Lisa the Skeptic" (1997).
This fantastic four-layered multi-character cel setup features Chief Wiggum ordering Homer to be cuffed by Lou and Eddie after walking into the police station and presenting a bogus prize certificate for a motor boat he thought he had won!
Homer: "Howdy gents. I'm hear to collect my free…." (Lou and Eddie grab him) "Oh, oh, my boating arm! What's going on?"
Wiggum: "Your'e under arrest slimebag, what's this punk in here for Lou?”
Lou: "235 unpaid parking tickets, totalling $175"
Wiggum: "I hope you brought your'e check book, wiseguy!”
Homer: (gets it out of his back pocket) "You lousy cops! Lucky for you I'm double parked (gives him check) Now, can I please have my motor boat?" (all characters are on celluloids).
This is a one-of-a-kind, hand-painted production cel setup (there are no others), and the artwork was filmed and used in the making of this SIMPSONS episode. Freeze-frame your DVD or Video, and you will see this unique piece of artwork!
The characters are hand-painted onto separate cels, and placed against the matching scene print background.
This 12 field, 3-peghole, 4 cel setup measures 10.5 inches by 12.5 inches wide, and bears the Twentieth Century Fox gold seal (lower corner). The artwork is also accompanied with the original Twentieth Century Fox certificate of authenticity and is in excellent condition.
EPISODE SYNOPSIS:
"Lisa the Skeptic" is the eighth episode of The Simpsons' ninth season. It first aired on the Fox network in the United States on November 23rd, 1997. On an archaeological dig with her class, Lisa discovers a skeleton that resembles an angel. All of the townspeople believe that the skeleton actually came from an angel, but skeptical Lisa attempts to persuade them that there must be a rational scientific explanation.
