Sensational image from the opening sequence of the episode, which features prenatal Homer "Ah, what a beautiful day in the womb.’' Suddenly the fluid drains and a hand reaches in to remove him. Homer clings on for dear life… the next scene is Homer clinging to the bedpost in the morning, as Marge tries to drag him out of bed for church !!!

Please note that EVERYTHING except the white background is painted onto one celluloid.

This is a one-of-a-kind, hand-painted piece that was filmed under the camera, and used in the making of this Simpsons episode. Freeze-frame your DVD or Video, and you will see this unique piece of artwork on screen around the 01:34 mark.

The animation cel measures 10.5 inches by 12.5 inches wide and has the three-peg punch holes, and bears the Twentieth Century Fox gold seal (lower corner). The artwork is accompanied by the original Twentieth Century Fox certificate of authenticity and is in excellent condition.

EPISODE SYNOPSIS:
"Homer the Heretic" is the third episode of The Simpsons' fourth season. It originally aired on the Fox network in the United States on October 8th, 1992.
In the episode, Homer decides to forgo going to church and has an excellent time staying home. His behavior quickly attracts the wrath of God, who visits him in a dream.
