This hand painted limited edition cel features Hassan and Bugs Bunny from a classic scene from the Chuck Jones theatrical short "Ali Baba Bunny" (1957). Created from an original drawing by legendary animation director Chuck Jones, the cel is hand signed by Chuck Jones (September 21, 1912 – February 22, 2002).
Produced in a small edition size of 200 pieces (worldwide) this SOLD-OUT edition is very hard to find as it was released over three decades ago. The artwork is comprised of a single hand painted cel placed against a photographic background, with an image area measuring 10.5" by 12.5" inches (unframed). The cel has the official Linda Jones gold seal (lower corner), and is accompanied with a gallery certificate of authenticity.
The cel also comes custom matted with 100% acid-free matts, ready to be inserted into a frame.
Ali Baba Bunny is a Warner Bros. Merrie Melodies short featuring Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, directed by Chuck Jones and released in 1957. In 1994, it was voted #35 of the 50 Greatest Cartoons of all time by members of the animation field. Several lines spoken by Daffy—among them "Mine mine mine!", "I can't help it, I'm a greedy slob—it's my hobby" and "I'm rich—I'm a happy miser!"—had become popular catchphrases amongst fans and students of Chuck Jones' style of animation and fans of Daffy Duck as well; the line "Hassan chop!" has also become a favorite quote.
