COMMENTS
Will Meugniot and Ricardo Villamonte Howard the Duck #29 Page 31 (Marvel, 1979).
A turning-point sequence: Created in the midst of author Steve Gerber's self-defeating campaign to claim ownership of the Howard the Duck trademark, this page finds scripter Gerber in a more cynical frame of mind than usual -- depicting both a bogus-charity scam and an episode of Mob violence. Howard himself appears worn and defeated, as if a reflection of his foredoomed creator. By the next issue, Gerber had been replaced by scripter Bill Mantlo.
Produced in ink over graphite on Marvel Bristol board with an image area of approximately 10" x 15" inches. The artwork is in excellent condition.
Please note that the comic book image is for reference only, and is not sold with the artwork.
Story Synopsis:
Back in Cleveland, Howard is again contemplating life decisions he has made. Joey, a good friend of Howard’s, comes up with a plan to make money in Las Vegas. You wouldn’t believe what happens next.
