This humorous gag features Dagwood arriving home to Blondie’s spareribs and sauerkraut dinner. Rendered in ink over graphite on Bristol board. Image area measures 17.5" x 5" inches. The artwork is issued with a certificate of authenticity (as pictured).
Chic Young (1901-1973)
Blondie is an American comic strip created by cartoonist Chic Young. Blondie was one of the most popular comic strips in the US, at one point having a readership of 52 million. Chic Young began the strip in 1930 and was involved with it until his death in 1973. Sometime in the 1950s, he began using Jim Raymond (Alex Raymond's brother) as his art assistant. Chic Young wrote and drew Blondie until his death in 1973.
