Comic Mint, your best source for rare, kooky, and classic animation art, is pleased to offer Hanna-Barbera fans this incredible original publicity piece was done for “The Flintstones” television series in 1965. This original studio illustration is a hand-drawn publicity drawing created for the classic episode “The Great Gazoo” which introduces the Great Gazoo from Planet Zetox. This piece features Fred and Barney with Gazoo, the tiny green alien (voiced by Harvey Korman).
Mixed media on 12" field 3-peghole untrimmed animation paper, measuring 10.5” x 12.5” inches. Matted to an image area of 12" x 9.5” inches. Some minor fading, otherwise in very good condition. The artwork also includes the Hanna-Barbera Studio stamp, and is hand-signed by Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera along the bottom. One-of-a-kind artwork such as this is extremely rare, and highly sought after.
EPISODE SYNOPSIS: Introducing the Great Gazoo from Planet Zetox, sent to primitive Earth to redeem himself by aiding earthlings such as Barney and Fred. In his first encounter with the cavemen, he makes it possible for Fred to treat Wilma to dinner at the posh restaurant she's practically bribed him to take her to. But as Fred and Barney will discover, there's always a down side to Gazoo's generosity.
