Comic Mint your best source for rare, kooky, and classic animation art, is pleased to offer fans of "The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show" this RARE Jay Ward Studio Scene Cel.
"I gotta get another hat" says Bullwinkle. In this iconic commercial break sequence, Bullwinkle pulls out a lion, tiger, bear, and rhino, but never a rabbit !!!
Due to most of the cels from the original show being thrown out following production in Mexico, the Jay Ward Studio produced a series of hand-inked and hand-painted "Scene Cels” which were sold to collectors and fans at his Dudley Do-Right Emporium on Sunset Blvd during the 1980's.
Although released unsigned, this hand inked and hand painted 12 field scene cel has been signed by JAY WARD (1920-1989) and two of his longtime directors Bill Hurtz (1919-2000) and Gerard Baldwin (1929-2018) a very rare treat!
Please note that most Bullwinkle scene cels feature him in orange, as Mr. Ward preferred it over brown; however, a few were made with him in his original color, so this is an exceptionally rare Bullwinkle in brown.
The overall measurements of the cel are 10.5" x 12.5" inches and the artwork comes custom matted measuring 20” x 16” inches, ready to be popped straight into a frame.
