"He's a Bully, Charlie Brown", is a television special which aired on ABC, on November 20th, 2006.
This wonderful cel set-up features Charlie Brown and Snoopy preparing to leave for summer camp, and this artwork featured in scene 038 from this animated television special.
Charlie Brown asks Snoopy: "Wow! Are you sure you're bringing enough stuff?" Each animation cel has been fashioned in the finest tradition of the studio to preserve this classic film moment. Hand -painted cel(s) transferred from an animator's drawing are uniquely one-of-a-kind. The animation art used in this production bears the Peanuts Film Gallery seals of authenticity establishing it as such.
This beautiful artwork was created at the studio of Bill Melendez, in association with Lee Mendelson Film Productions, and the creator of PEANUTS, Charles M. Schulz. Each hand inked cel is hand painted with a reproduction background, and comes with the original set of production drawings signed by Bill Melendez. The artwork measures 12.5" x 10.5" inches (unframed), and is accompanied with the studio certificate of authenticity.
"He's a Bully, Charlie Brown" is the 44th prime-time animated TV special based on the popular comic strip Peanuts by Charles M. Schulz. It was originally aired on the ABC network on November 20th, 2006.
It is the second most recent Peanuts television special and is primarily based on a story from the Peanuts comic strips originally appearing in April 1995. He's a Bully was an idea Schulz had pitched, and worked on before his death on February 12th, 2000. Schulz's working title for the special was It's Only Marbles, Charlie Brown. It is also the last special to be produced by and feature Bill Melendez as the voice of Snoopy and Woodstock, as he died on September 2nd, 2008.
