The Ren and Stimpy Show “Stupid Sidekick Union" Production Cel Setup (1995).
We are pleased to offer Ren & Stimpy fans this original production cel setup from the Season Five episode directed by Bob Camp and Jim Gomez.
Great image of Stimpy going on strike, and holding up a sign with “Strike” on one side and “Ren Stinks!” on the other.
“Oh, and before you go… (Ren removes Stimpy’s blue nose) That’s studio property!” Stimpy exits the studio, and Ren angrily slams the door shut “Don’t let the door hit you in the butt!"
This is a one-of-a-kind, hand-painted cel setup which was filmed and used in the making of this episode. Freeze-frame your DVD or Video, and you will see this unique piece of artwork which appears on screen around the 14:47 mark.
The hand painted production cels measure 10.5 inches by 12.5 inches wide and have the three-peg punch holes, and bear the Nickelodeon studio seal (upper corner). The cels are placed against the matching scene background, and is accompanied with the original certificate of authenticity. The artwork is in excellent condition.
Episode Synopsis:
"Stupid Sidekick Union" is the first episode of the fifth season of The Ren & Stimpy Show which originally aired on March 18th, 1995.
The sidekick union is going on a massive strike, since Stimpy can't stand the abusive slaps Ren does to him anymore unless if he paid him extra for it. So Ren is forced to audition new sidekicks, but no one seems to be able to pull out the same pranks as Stimpy.
