After terrorising Bart and Lisa in Toon Town, Itchy and Scratchy aren't giving up that easily, and break through the Simpsons’ TV, screen and run into the living room. Their plans for creating havoc run into a snag, though, because they're still only a few inches high! Homer: (picks up Itchy by the tail and giggles) "Look how cute they are.(Itchy tries futilely to hit Homer with the axe. Homer deposits him in a cage, where Itchy instinctively avails himself of the exercise wheel) Look at him go!"
This is a one-of-a-kind, hand-painted production cel (there are no others), and the artwork was filmed and used in the making of this SIMPSONS episode. Freeze-frame your DVD or Video, and you will see this unique piece of artwork on screen around the 13:57 mark. The characters are hand-painted onto two seperate cels, and placed against a copy of the matching scene background.
The animation cel measures 10.5 inches by 12.5 inches wide and has the three-peg punch holes, and bears the Twentieth Century Fox gold seal (lower corner). The artwork is accompanied by the original Twentieth Century Fox certificate of authenticity and is in excellent condition.
EPISODE SYNOPSIS:
"Treehouse of Horror IX" is the fourth episode in the tenth season of the American animated television series The Simpsons. It first aired on the Fox network in the United States on October 25th, 1998.
This is the ninth Treehouse of Horror episode, and, like the other "Treehouse of Horror" episodes, contains three self-contained segments: In "Hell Toupée", Homer gets a hair transplant and is possessed by the spirit of an executed criminal; in "Terror of Tiny Toon", Bart and Lisa are trapped in a special, extremely violent episode of The Itchy & Scratchy Show; and in "Starship Poopers", Marge reveals that Maggie is the product of a one-night stand with the alien Kang.
