Every Friday evening, after work, Mr. Burns undergoes a series of medical treatments designed to cheat death for another week. This includes an extensive chiropractic readjustment, eyedrops (which enlarge Mr. Burns' pupils), pain killers and a vocal chord scraping!
This is a one-of-a-kind, hand-painted production cel setup (there are no others), and the artwork was filmed and used in the making of this SIMPSONS episode. Freeze-frame your DVD or Video, and you will see this unique piece of artwork on screen around the 20:10 mark.
The characters are hand-painted onto a single cel, and placed against a copy of the matching scene background.
This 12 field, 3-peghole, 2 cel setup measures 10.5 inches by 12.5 inches wide, and bears the Twentieth Century Fox gold seal (lower corner). The artwork is also accompanied with the original Twentieth Century Fox certificate of authenticity and is in excellent condition.
EPISODE SYNOPSIS:
"The Springfield Files" is the tenth episode of The Simpsons' eighth season. It originally aired on the Fox network in the United States on January 12th, 1997.
In the episode, Homer believes he has discovered an alien in Springfield. It was written by Reid Harrison and directed by Steven Dean Moore. Leonard Nimoy guest stars as himself and David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson guest star as agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, their characters on The X-Files. The episode serves as a crossover with The X-Files and features numerous references to the series.
