Comic Mint is pleased to offer PINKY AND THE BRAIN fans this SOLD-OUT limited edition cel entitled: "Pi(E)" (1996).
In this image, inspired by a scene from the episode titled "Win Big," the Brain evinces his normal characteristics as the brains of the operation, while Pinky continues to fulfill his role as the stomach. This shift in perception (You say PIE, I say Pi...) and the ensuring communication breakdown typify the Demented Duo's never-ending (and never-winning) attempts to "TAKE OVER THE WORLD!"
This beautiful limited edition cel was created to capture the humor, the drama; the lunacy, the brilliance; the dichotomy that is Pinky and the Brain. Created at the famed Warner Bros. animation studio, the original drawing was hand-inked and the master ink line was silkscreened onto a clear acetate sheet (or "cel"). These lines were augmented with colored, hand-inked lines, which help create the trademark shadows on the characters. Each cel was then expertly hand-painted on the reverse side.
This edition is numbered 278 out of 500 pieces (worldwide) has been SOLD-OUT for over two decades, as it was created way back in 1996, and is very hard to find. This hand painted cel is applied to the background, which is a four color lithograph. The artwork has an image area of 12.5" x 10.5" inches, and is in excellent condition. The cel has the official Warner Brothers seal (lower corner), and is accompanied with a certificate of authenticity.
