Sensational image with Sideshow Bob being released from Springfield Prison, and being greeted by an angry mob of protesters at the gates. Bart shouts “He’s a maniac” and Mayor Quimby replies “Bob is no maniac! He explained his reasons to kill us all, and I assure you they were perfectly sane!” This multi-character setup features Reverend Lovejoy, Sideshow Bob, Cecil, Mayor Quimby and Chief Wiggum.
This is a one-of-a-kind, hand-painted production cel (there are no others), and the artwork was filmed and used in the making of this SIMPSONS episode. Freeze-frame your DVD or Video, and you will see this unique piece of artwork on screen around the 05:02 mark. The characters are hand-painted onto three seperate cels, and placed against a copy of the matching scene background.
This 12 field, 3-peghole, celluloid measures 10.5 inches by 12.5 inches wide, and bears the Twentieth Century Fox gold seal (lower corner). The artwork is also accompanied with the original Twentieth Century Fox certificate of authenticity and is in excellent condition.
EPISODE SYNOPSIS:
"Brother from Another Series" is the sixteenth episode of The Simpsons' eighth season and originally aired February 23rd, 1997. Sideshow Bob is released from prison into the care of his younger brother Cecil and claims to be a changed man. However, Bart does not believe him and tries to find out what Bob is up to. The episode guest stars Kelsey Grammer in his sixth appearance as Sideshow Bob and David Hyde Pierce as Cecil.
