We are pleased to offer SIMPSONS fans this outstanding hand painted original production cel, from the classic third season episode “Radio Bart" (1992).
This incredible vertical format scene features Bart, at nightfall, lowering himself down a well, trying to retrieve a radio he left there after it fell in. Bart falls to the bottom, when policemen Eddie and Lou undo the rope.
This is a one-of-a-kind, hand-painted production cel (there are no others), and the artwork was filmed and used in the making of this SIMPSONS episode. Freeze-frame your DVD or Video, and you will see this unique piece of artwork on screen around the 15:55 mark. Bart is hand-painted onto a single cel, as is the air-brushed ray of light from his torch. The cel is placed against a copy of the matching scene background. The cel also comes custom matted with a metallic SIMPSONS logo plaque.
This 12 field, 3-peghole, celluloid measures 10.5 inches by 12.5 inches wide, and bears the Twentieth Century Fox gold seal (lower corner). The artwork is also accompanied with the original Twentieth Century Fox certificate of authenticity and is in excellent condition.
EPISODE SYNOPSIS:
"Radio Bart" is the thirteenth episode of the third season of the American animated television series The Simpsons. It originally aired on the Fox network in the United States on January 9th, 1992. In the episode, Bart receives a microphone that transmits sound to nearby AM radios. To play a prank on the citizens of Springfield, he lowers a radio down a well and uses the microphone to trick the town into thinking a little boy is trapped there. The prank succeeds, but Bart remembers labelling the radio with his name, tries to retrieve it, and becomes trapped himself. Angry at being duped by Bart, the townspeople refuse to rescue him.
