Comic Mint is pleased to offer LONE RANGER fans this vintage production setup featuring the Lone Ranger riding Silver, with Tonto behind him. This is a one-of-a-kind, key-master production setup that was filmed and used in the making of this series. The artwork is signed by the producer of the Lone Ranger series, animation legend, HERB KLYNN:
“The thing we brought to The Lone Ranger,” said producer Herb Klynn, “was a totally new graphic.” Multi-layered montaged backgrounds featuring shapes of luminous color held together by cels featuring illustrations that used grease pencils on the acetate instead of ink to get strong compelling black lines was used. “Creative talent cannot be contained,” stated Klynn. “It must be allowed to breathe, to try new avenues…you have to experiment and go through a creative evolutionary process. That’s what we did. We were a team, a family with no boundaries.”
ABOUT THE SHOW:
The Lone Ranger is the central character of an American animated television series that ran 26 episodes on CBS from September 10, 1966, to September 6, 1969. The series was produced by Herb Klynn and Jules Engel of Format Films, Hollywood.
Herbert Klynn (November 11, 1917 – February 3, 1999) was an American animator at UPA from 1944-1959 eventually rising to the role of Vice President and Production Chief. He worked on various Mr. Magoo cartoons and Gerald McBoing-Boing cartoons as well as cartoon shorts such as Madeline (1952) and Christopher Crumpet (1953). In 1959 he founded the television animation studio Format Films, best known for producing The Alvin Show and The Lone Ranger, as well as eleven Road Runner cartoons and three Daffy Duck and Speedy Gonzales cartoons for Warner Bros.'s Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies series.
