Here is the original art for the classic "Hagar the Horrible" Daily Comic Strip, dated April 25th, 1987, created and illustrated by Dik Browne.
This Dik Browne classic has an image area of 13.5" x 4.25" inches, and the artwork is in excellent condition. The artwork is signed and dated by Dik Browne in the upper middle panel.
DIK BROWNE
Dik Browne (August 11, 1917 – June 4, 1989) was born Richard Arthur Allan Browne in New York City. He was a popular cartoonist, best known for writing and drawing Hägar the Horrible and for drawing Hi and Lois.
Browne was recognized for his work by the National Cartoonists Society with their Humor Comics Strip Award in 1959, 1960, 1972 and 1977 for Hi and Lois, and again in 1984 and 1986 for Hägar the Horrible. He received their Reuben Award for Hi and Lois in 1962 and for Hägar the Horrible in 1973. That same year the NCS honored him with their Elzie Segar Award. Browne died in Sarasota, Florida in 1989, at age 71.
