We are pleased to offer SIMPSONS fans this RARE hand painted original production cel, from the classic classic seventh season episode "King-Size Homer" (1995). This is one of the most requested episodes we have ever had, and this is one of the very LAST cels we have of obese Homer wearing the muu-muu.
In this iconic scene from “King-Size Homer”, Homer climbs the side of the ready to burst tank at the nuclear power plant. Homer struggles to reach the "manual shutdown" switch only to fall and grab clutching at the catwalk above the tank. "Stupid switch!" he laments, "I wish I had my reaching broom! Wait a minute, there's probably a..." The tank explodes, venting green gas with great force. Homer falls screaming into the tank opening, his tremendous girth sealing the opening and ending the crisis.
This is a one-of-a-kind, hand-painted production cel (there are no others), and the artwork was filmed and used in the making of this SIMPSONS episode. Freeze-frame your DVD or Video, and you will see this unique piece of artwork on screen around the 20:22 mark. The character is hand-painted onto a single cel, and placed against a copy of the matching scene background.
This 12 field, 3-peghole, celluloid measures 10.5 inches by 12.5 inches wide, and bears the Twentieth Century Fox gold seal (lower corner). The artwork is also accompanied with the original Twentieth Century Fox certificate of authenticity and is in excellent condition.
