We are pleased to offer SIMPSONS fans this RARE hand painted original production cel setup, from the classic eighth season episode # "El Viaje Misterioso de Nuestro Jomer" (1997).
Homer asks Dr Hibbert if Bart could have a waterproof cast, and Hibbert says that has to be approved by the newly approved government health care liaison. The Chinese Health Worker replies by saying that the people will not tolerate such bourgeois extravagance.
This great multi-character setup is a DELETED scene which can be viewed on YouTube.
This is a one-of-a-kind, hand-painted production cel (there are no others), and the artwork was filmed and used in the making of this SIMPSONS episode. Freeze-frame your DVD or Video, and you will see this unique piece of artwork on screen around the 17:38 mark. Homer is hand-painted onto a single cel, and placed against a copy of the matching scene background.
This 12 field, 3-peghole, celluloid measures 10.5 inches by 12.5 inches wide, and bears the Twentieth Century Fox gold seal (lower corner). The artwork is also accompanied with the original Twentieth Century Fox certificate of authenticity and is in excellent condition.
EPISODE SYNOPSIS:
"Bart of Darkness" is the first episode of The Simpsons' sixth season. It originally aired on the Fox network in the United States on September 4th, 1994.
In the episode, Bart breaks his leg and becomes increasingly isolated in his room. He starts spying on neighbors with a telescope and begins to suspect that Ned Flanders has murdered his wife. The episode was produced during the 1994 Northridge earthquake, which delayed production by a month, and is largely a parody of the Alfred Hitchcock film Rear Window.
