We are pleased to offer SIMPSONS fans this RARE hand painted original production cel, from the classic tenth season episode "When You Dish Upon a Star" (1998).
At Lake Springfield, Homer rents a boat and takes the family water-skiing. Dressed in bathers and wearing a lifejacket, Homer decides to go parasailing. After a few mishaps, Homer is finally at one with the breeze!
Homer: "Bye-bye, fishies! Higher! Higher!! I'm soaring… soaring majestically, like a candy wrapper caught in an updraft! Higher, Marge! Higher!"
Marge: "It won't go any…"
Homer: "Higher I say! I want to soar higher than any man has ever soared! I want to look down on the clouds with contempt! I want to sneer at God's creation, and spit on his... uh oh!"
(with that boat’s motor catches on fire, and it's flames spread to the rope. Which breaks, and Homer begins to drifting away.
This is a one-of-a-kind, hand-painted production cel (there are no others), and the artwork was filmed and used in the making of this SIMPSONS episode. Freeze-frame your DVD or Video, and you will see this unique piece of artwork on screen around the 05:14 mark. Homer is hand-painted onto a single cel and placed against a copy of the matching scene background.
This 12 field, 3-peghole, celluloid measures 10.5 inches by 12.5 inches wide, and bears the Twentieth Century Fox gold seal (lower corner). The artwork is also accompanied with the original Twentieth Century Fox certificate of authenticity and is in excellent condition.
EPISODE SYNOPSIS:
"When You Dish Upon a Star" is the fifth episode of the tenth season of The Simpsons. It originally aired on the Fox network in the United States on November 8th, 1998.
When the family spend the day at Lake Springfield, Homer meets Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger (voicing themselves), who are hiding from the media in their secluded summer home. Homer starts to work for them, developing a good friendship, but he soon reveals their secrets to the public, damaging his new friendship with them.
